Happy Nest Therapy

Your thriving relationship with yourself, your partner, and your children begins here.

Not connecting with your partner like you used to? Feeling overcome with doubt about building or raising your family? The reality of parenting not matching the expectation? Past trauma interfering with your dream to be present at home?

There is a way to heal and connect.

Let’s do it together.

Heal ✧ Grow ✧ Restore ✧ Connect ✧

You might be struggling with:

  • Intense emotions around trying to conceive (TTC), pregnancy, infertility, and adoption process, intense postpartum emotions after birth or adoption

  • Connecting with your partner or finding that your values with parenting aren’t aligned

  • Staying present with your partner & children or difficulty bonding with a new child

  • You and partner experienced a birth trauma or have a history of other trauma

You don’t need to go through it alone.

Nice to meet you,
I’m Amber.

I can help you heal the intense emotions you’re facing with my professional and personal experiences with perinatal mental health. Becoming and being a parent is hard enough-let’s get you the support you need and deserve.

Life can throw a lot of challenges-let’s not fall into the myth that we need to “power through”.

I believe that when we form an alliance, therapy can be a way to conserve & protect your inner light while living a more content and flexible life, even with difficult or ongoing stressors. If you choose to create this team with me, you can expect me to use a relational approach, incorporating a balance of validation and change.

My Services

I work with both adults and couples. Here’s a little more information about both of those.

  • I offer sessions tailored to you and your unique situation. I’m trained in multiple modalities that may help you heal, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), and DBT (Dialectic Behavior Therapy).

I also offer individual trauma intensives. Think of this as a much longer session, typically in 3 hour blocks. It might be beneficial if you feel ready to target the trauma and want faster results. We can chat if this is the right choice for you.

  • I offer what people think of as “traditional” couples therapy but also find it useful to incorporate a lot of skills work since relationships can be challenging.

For clients who are expecting a child (in any way you’re becoming a parent) or have children 5 and under, I offer the Gottman Bringing Baby Home programming in our work together.

I also offer couples therapy intensives. Think of this as a way to get the results of months of therapy in a shorter window of time. We can chat if this is right for you and your partner.

There are some benefits to not using your insurance policy. Working outside of insurance means that I have the opportunity to work on goals that work for you without insurance choosing the goals for us. This also avoids the potential for “coverage” surprises with your policy and ensures you know exactly what you will pay. Here are some other benefits of not using insurance:

No documented diagnosis is required for treatment

    No referral needed

You could save money when you have a high deductible plan

No sharing of your personal information with third party payers

We get to decide length and frequency of treatment, not your insurance

Any intensives (individual or couples) that are canceled with more than 24 hours notice or are not attended (i.e., no-show) will be subject to the full charge.

You are welcome to pay with credit card, HSA, or FSA cards.

I am an affiliate of Minnesota Online Counseling and billing statements may reflect this.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

You can ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services or call 800-985-3059.
